Karwaan Foundation is a non-profit initiative started by Samaritans of Karwaan International Air Services Pvt Ltd and its friends. We provide one-of-a-kind sponsored air ambulance services originating in India. Our partners at Karwaan International specialize in Air Charter Services, Aircraft Acquisition, Aircraft Management, and Aircraft Consulting. Additionally, we also play our part in addressing the climate crisis by conducting aggressive afforestation campaigns. To counter the Carbon Footprint of the flights we sponsor, we are going to plant 20 trees for every hour flown.
These initiatives by Karwaan DRS Foundation highlight its objective of working for the well-being of the people and the environment. To work towards our twin goals, we are targeting 90 Volunteers to spread awareness about the same.
To connect people to emergency healthcare services by creating a network of sponsored air ambulances (airport to airport transfer) as a humanitarian service with the help of people, corporations, organizations, and the government, and to also work on environmental conservation aggressively.
To sponsor air ambulance flights and reduce our carbon footprint with mindful afforestation to combat climate change.
We have watched the Indian aerospace industry grow – from Tata airlines to private jets and a lot more – and we know the stupendous potential it holds. However, we are also aware of the enormous lacuna between the aviation industry and the common middle class of the country that has always existed. Karwaan DRS Foundation aims to bridge this gap while bringing the healthcare services offered by the aviation sector to the frontline. Additionally, to tackle issues concerning global warming and climate change in these times of rapid technological and industrial growth, and to reduce our own carbon footprint, we at Karwaan Foundation plan to work on Sustainable Development Goal 13, which is Climate Action.
The main thought for Karwaan Foundation is to start sponsoring air-ambulance charters on a case-to-case basis, and then advance into inducting its own fleet to make it more accessible and feasible for the public.
What were we doing during the second wave of COVID-19?
The second wave of the ghastly Coronavirus hit each class and section of the society, especially the marginalized. Before the inception of Karwaan DRS Foundation, the whole team of Karwaan International Air Services and its friends came forward to help the country in crisis by helping to arrange important resources. To mitigate the damage being done to humanity, we came up with two initiatives of our own:
Our country saw a great loss of life during the second wave. Some of our immediate circles and colleagues’ families – people we knew up close or had interacted with recently – were hit by COVID-19 during the second wave. We felt that arranging basic resources was a responsibility and a huge task, so to tackle the issue we established a support group of 35 people who picked up critical cases and arranged various resources, such as:
Working with the motto “we stay with a case until it’s resolved”, we coordinated with the patients’ attendants and tried to connect them directly to the medical resources through our trusted and verified contacts until the case was resolved.
Due to the uncertainty of this grim and horrifying second wave of coronavirus, many were stuck away from their sick family members. The scarcity of hospital beds and other medical facilities prompted the migration of patients to other cities. To reduce the pain and agony of distance and separation from their loved ones, Karwaan International started services to arrange Air Ambulance service for both Covid and Non-covid patients – with ZERO Consultancy/Service Fee. Some of the things that we took care of were:
